BACK PAIN

Common Causes of Back Pain
Your central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord. Protecting the spinal cord are vertebrae (bones). In between the vertebrae are discs, made up of rings with a gelatin-line substance in the middle of the rings. The discs function as a shock absorber to the spine. Discs undergo tremendous amounts of stress, often resulting in the gelatinous substance breaking through the rings, which is called a “bulging” or herniation of the disc. This is the most common cause of lower back pain.
About Our Treatment for Back Pain
Your treatment begins with a complete examination with either an X-ray or an MRI. The image enables our medical staff to see where, precisely, the problem lies. Through the use of spinal distraction and decompression techniques, our medical staff is able to target only these specific discs that require treatment thus affecting only the damaged disc and not the entire spine.
Our clinics use techniques to gradually reduce compression of the nerve, a frequent cause of lower back pain. The process has been proven to relieve pain by enlarging the disc space, reducing herniation, strengthening outer ligaments to help move herniated areas back into place, and reversing high intradiscal pressure through the application of negative pressure.
Treatment is virtually painless and unlike surgery does not require extended recovery time or incur high risk factors of infection and additional surgeries.
It is an integral part of our treatment philosophy to include both physical therapy and chiropractic with our medical doctors in your treatment plan. We believe that this truly comprehensive care provides the patient with the best possible outcome and long term results!
